Roof Rejuvenation

How is roof rejuvenation different from roof cleaning, roof coating, and replacement?

Cleaning vs. Rejuvenation vs. Coating vs. Replacement

Roof cleaning removes moss, algae, lichen, and debris from the surface of the roof. It restores appearance and stops organic growth, but it doesn't change the condition of the asphalt itself.

Roof rejuvenation with APEX-1132™ goes a step further: the manufacturer states it absorbs into the shingle and redisperses the asphalt binder to help restore flexibility, grit retention, and color.

A coating is a separate film applied over the roof. Rejuvenation is different — it soaks into the existing shingle rather than sitting on top.

Replacement removes and replaces the roofing entirely, and is the right answer when shingles are past their service life. Rejuvenation is preservation, best for roofs still in reasonable health. Cleaning is usually the prep step before rejuvenation.
