Started with a pressure washer.

Ended up building a platform.

Patrick Roden — Owner, OTHS Home Services

On Top Home Services was founded by Patrick Roden, a Navy veteran, to do one thing well: make Oregon homes and commercial properties look the way their owners want them to look. Roofs, driveways, gutters, decks, fences — the exterior work most people put off until it's urgent.

Over the past several years, we've built On Top into a business that's served more than 500 properties across Salem and Albany, earned contracts with commercial property managers and government clients, and built a reputation our customers keep calling us back to confirm.

But somewhere along the way, we noticed something.

The tools weren't built for us.

The software that independent service businesses rely on — scheduling, invoicing, customer communication, job tracking — is built by companies that don't run service businesses. It's built for venture returns, not for the contractor who's trying to get home to their family at a reasonable hour. Every tool takes a cut. Every platform owns the customer relationship. Every "integration" adds a subscription.

So we started building something different.

SQUEIL.

SQUEIL is a sovereign platform for independent service providers and the customers who need them. It's designed so the businesses using it own their customer relationships, keep more of what they earn, and operate on infrastructure that works for them — not the other way around.

On Top Home Services is the founding tenant. Every feature in SQUEIL gets tested on a real business serving real customers before it goes anywhere else. If it doesn't make our work easier, it doesn't ship.

We're building this the slow way, the right way, with a small team and a clear thesis. It won't be for everyone. It's for the operators who've felt what we've felt — that there should be better tools, built by people who understand the work.

Where we are now.

On Top keeps cleaning roofs. That work funds the build. If you're in Salem, Albany, or the surrounding areas and your property needs attention, we'd be glad to take care of it.
